Chest pain?
Yes.
Oh! That pain,
It hurts, isn't it?

 Yeah, but oh! It is squeezingly painful.
True, the pain so intense that you could almost forget yourself. The thought of the days activities, your daily routine is now scary as it stands. Could this be as a result of the exertion that accompanies it? Does this mean your heart is failing?

Oh!
"Broken heart...!"

That is it, the trigger- exertion, anxiety, emotional stress, cold, shock, heavy meal, and/ or anything known to man that actually increases your heart's need for blood and oxygen.

Oh! Unfortunately, working is number one on that list, and this brings down your defenses. As a result of your chest pain, your walls are fallen, your strength is beginning to fail you, and you are no longer the person you once was. Your strength is being defeated by the weakness of a single member (or component) of your body; oh your heart...! Your heart is broken...!

Though, as you said, you had maintain a healthy lifestyle (or routine), never leaving to chance on how to maintain your masculine prowess.

Your chest (heart) ached, like a sword piecing through your heart. It hurts... Most times, you groin aloud for this, this oppressive pain. The agony of pain in the centre of your chest is too much to bear. Each night, you pray and hoped to see the sun rise, wishing, if you had done somethings (even the smallest thing) differently, things would have been different.

So now what? You blame yourself, you have lost your masculine prowess, the urge, the desire is gone ( or no more there).

I don't blame you, who wouldn't want to stay alive?

So now, you are putting your entire life on hold because of that pain (chest pain). That angina, isn't that what it is called? AnginaAngina pectoris as some call it has brought you some sort of dysfunction.

No more worries, read, understand, take precautions and reignite your masculine prowess...!

Angina (Chest Pain)

Angina is a squeezing, suffocating or strangulating pain or discomfort of the chest.

This is as a result of myocardial ischaemia. The coronary arteries suddenly becomes thickens and narrowed or constricts, as a result it reduces the flow of blood to the heart muscles and to the heart at large. This deprivation of oxygen cause or leads to the strangulating angina pain.

But troubled or narrowed arteries are not the only cause of angina pectoris. Sometimes, it strikes even when these important blood vessels are in good shape. Research shows that, the problem sometimes proves to be too much thyroid hormones in the blood, severe anaemia, syphilis, or a disease of the heart itself, instead of its arteries.

Management of a Failing Heart

Angina pectoris is caused by the narrowing and hardening of the blood vessels going to the heart, thereby reducing the blood  flow and consequently causing insufficient supply of oxygen to the heart muscles and the heart itself (which results to a short or a temporary lack of oxygen-reach blood to the heart). Your failing Heart can be managed through some of the following;

Dieting

A healthy and a balanced diet keeps you physically fit, and most importantly away from the doctor. Thus changing and watching your diet helps in the management of your failing heart, so;
  • Eat plenty of banana: for your heart to be in good condition, eat lots of bananaBanana is rich in potassium (K), which serve  as vasodilators. Banana therefore functions to reduce your blood pressure. Banana can help to remove or cure atherosclerosis (atheroma) and subsequently angina pectoris, heart attack and stroke by removing the "bad cholesterol" (LDL) from your blood and vessels since they are rich in fibre. Banana also reduce stress in the CVS,
  • Avoid large meals as much as possible,
  • As much as possible, avoid diets containing large amount of striated fats,
  • Eat healthy diet of whole grains, fruits and vegetables,
  • Eat more of beans and oat bran,
  • Eat plenty of Apple and pineapple as much as possible,
  • Eat plenty broccoli, etc.

 

Change of lifestyle

Changing of your lifestyle is one of the most significant and important step to effective treatment and management of your failing heart. Below are some routine that should be followed,
  • Needless to say, take care to get enough rest, avoid stress as much as possible,
  • Take plenty of water to stay hydrated,
  • Quit smoking and the use of tobacco,
  • Keep warm,
  • Carefully start regular exercise,
  • As much as possible, control your obesity,
  • Control your diabetes,
  • As much as possible, control your high blood pressure,
  • Control your blood cholesterol levels,Quit alcohol,
  • Talk to your doctor about your options, etc.

Medications

A failing heart is often treated with medications, some medications for the treatment of your failing heart are;
  • Nitroglycerine, a potent vasodilator which is an effective pain relieve for your failing heart,
  • Glyceryl trinitrate spray, a droplets sprayed into the mouth get absorbed quickly into blood stream and provides immediate relief for your failing heart,
  • Aspirin, a drug that reduces the ability of your blood to clot, thereby relieving and controlling and prevent heart failures, 
  • Statins, drugs that are used to reduce your blood cholesterol levels also functions to prevent your heart from failing,
  • Beta blockers, drugs used to relax and dilates your blood vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure,
  • Talk to your doctor about your options, etc.

Surgery 

Where the above stated treatment methods or management plans for your failing heart fails, the last option is surgical procedures such as;


  1. Angioplasty and stent placement, or
  2. Coronary artery bypass.
